More companies are realizing the costs and risks of an uncontrolled release of PFAS containing foam also known as 'forever chemicals' that find their way into human drinking water, whether through a loss of containment from storage totes, or intentional discharge during testing or a fire event. The increasing regulatory and legal concerns have led corporate departments such as risk management, health & safety and emergency response teams to seek experienced and qualified SMEs for their specialized technical expertise to address these issues.
Does your business or team lack the knowledge on how to transition away from AFFF? I have a unique skillset in this area of fire protection systems as my work experience has included an award winning assessment process that leveraged the expertise of many stakeholders that include corporate departments such as technical process safety, emergency response, business continuity, insurance, legal, and environmental. This process conforms to API guidance for AFFF transition to fluorine free foams. Discover some of the best practices with me.
A thorough process of transitioning foam needs to address a whole life cycle of foam product and equipment management such as a foam transition feasibility assessment, an MOC, and implementation: removal of inventory, cleaning, disposal, product procurement and testing. My consultation on PFAS issues as a technical safety engineer will include several key stages such as a presentation on the problem statement, identifying the systems involved, gathering technical data on the fire protection system and protected assets, identifying fire and foam use scenarios, and then issuing an assessment report including the recommendations for foam transition. If transition is required, then an MOC checklist will be provided.
I specialize in designing innovative and sustainable solutions for complex engineering problems. My solutions are tailored to meet the unique needs of each client while adhering to industry standards and regulations.
As a licensed professional engineer holding a masters in Chemical Safety Engineering, and an NFPA certification as a Fire Protection Specialist, I have 9 years experience working for two North American based multinational oil and gas producers. I have served my clients as a technical safety engineer and a loss prevention engineer advising on various problems within the health & safety, risk management, and insurance areas.
As a consultant, I provide expert advice and guidance to help clients make informed decisions about their engineering projects. From feasibility studies to risk assessments, I offer a wide range of consulting services to meet the needs of businesses and organizations of all sizes. These assessments include HAZID, HAZOP, PSSR, MOC, and consequence modeling.
I offer training and development services to help engineers and other technical professionals enhance their skills and advance their careers. My training programs are designed to be engaging, interactive, and practical, ensuring that participants can apply what they learn in their work.
I am committed to advancing the field of engineering through research and development. My research focuses on finding innovative solutions to complex problems, with a particular emphasis on sustainability and environmental stewardship.
I believe that collaboration and partnership are key to success in engineering. Whether working with clients, colleagues, or other stakeholders, I strive to build strong relationships and foster a culture of teamwork and cooperation.
